My first daughter loved her dummy and had it up to the age of three but i wouldnt allow her outside with it at that age you feel as though others are tutting at you for not getting them off it sooner but i think for Lauren it was a way of her keeping hold of the "baby" stage as i was expecting again, i managed to get her off it by giving her a count down period from monday to sunday and each day reminded her the fairys were coming to collect the dummys for all the babys that didnt have any and it made them very sad, we made it sound fun and exciting and by sunday bed time she quite a collection for that fairy "my bin" and in the morning the fairy had left a lovely teddy to say thank you good luck x

I also know that it's always easier to wean your child from something the younger they are.

I have heard that some moms didn't have any trouble weaning their child from a pacifier and one day they just decided they didn't want it. How old is your child? It really depends on you and the type of security she's putting on her pacifier. A lot of times it is trading something else for the comfort of their pacifier.
