Passive resistant to getting ready for school - 6 yr old

Our 6 year old daughter does not appear to have much trouble waking up in the morning at about 630 AM. But it just seems so difficult when getting her to have breakfast, get dressed, brush hair n teeth etc etc. No tantrums, she just does not do it, or reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally takes her own sweet time..........

any advice is welcome, because this is driving us nuts !!! We've tried rewards, or nixed play dates with her best friend, nothing seems to work.

I would say to maybe implement a timer for her or some knowledge of time management. Make her become aware of the time she spends doing each task. Make sure she understands the consequences if she is late. Threaten her with having to wake up earlier to make up for time lost. Lol. That was always my mothers favorite. It's hard with small children to make them grasp and understand how time schedules work. They're still figuring out that the world doesn't revolve around them. Lol. Another thing, if you have time, or can make the time, watch over her morning tasks with her, with the timer, and explain to her in simple terms how stuff works and what might happen if time restrictions aren't met. Make a game of it, if you haven't tried that already. See how fast she can brush her teeth (without damaging anything, of course. Lol), see how fast she can eat her breakfast, etc...

Hope you and her can find something that works. Good luck!
