Hi all,

Just a moan really, I'm currently doing my sons passport and i can't believe how much they are charging it's ridiculous, we live in spain but me and my boyfreind are english so my son is legally english aswell, so we have to register him in the british consulate, so they want 98€ for his passport wich only lasts 5 years, 122€ to register him, 78€ for a copy wich we need plus 14€ transport fees, i just can't believe they can charge us so much,

The other stupid thing is the photos for his passport he's only 2 months old and that passport will last him 5 years, he changes from one day to the next, can u imagine from now till he's 5 years old....

It's just stupid

I know, i wouldn't mind renewing it every year untill he was about five or six if it wasn't so expensive, i don't see why they can't charge between 20€ or 50€ a year

I completely agree! It is so annoying that the charge so much! What scares me most is that because i now know the system (that newborn pics can be used for children passports and last five years) how easy it could be for a child to be taken out of the country. A morbid way of thinking i know but i can't help but think the system is seriously flawed. not only is it very expensive but its not very security conscious either!
