butter is like plastic for the blood, its bad, i dont even have any butter in my own diet never mind my child's diet. a little bit wont kill anyone, but why would you add such an unhealthy ingredient when you don't need to. try adding something like coconut oil or olive oil if anything thats a wayyyy healthier option.

And what I said is that you don't need to. Babies before 12 months are only having solids to get used to the texture and taste. They have no idea what it tastes like without additives so why add them in?

What baby food are you making that you need to put butter in it? All you need to do is boil up some vege's (potato, carrot, cauliflower, broccoli) and the puree it. No need to add anything else to it.

I let my baby have a little butter if it is in the table food I'm eating, like mashed potatoes or toast, but I wouldn't add it to his baby food. If you have it, another option may be to add a dash of cinnamon, some kind of juice, or some fruit baby food.
