Picky Eaters

My husband and myself are experiencing the picky eatting stage. All he wants to eat is chips and pickles. All crap, and I want him to be a healthy eater. I am starting to get frustrated with the eatting situation. How can we emplore good eating habits on our children?

I tell my daughter that she can have whatever junk food she is asking for when her meal is all gone.  My rule is 1 hour at the table then she can get down, if she hasn't eaten then she doesn't get anything till the next meal.  Also I chop up raw spinach and sneak it into other foods.  Also I add V8 to fruit juices.

Easy make them eat whats on the table. Trust me they arent going to starve themselves. When they get hungry enough they will eat it. Just be sure to give them a few healthy choices at a meal and try everything. My children are required to eat all meat on the table and at least half of thier veggies. As for potatoes and pasta they can have as much or as little as possible. Also, we only give them a small amount of milk with meals until they make "a happy plate" this way they dont fill up on milk. Also we only give water between meals, partly because we live in the desert and partly because they will drink milk constantly between meals to make up for food. Just remember, they wont know if they like something if the dont try it and they wont try it unless forced. Id rather make my daughter eat one pea and spit it out then not try it at all. My husband and my SS are picky eaters because there moms never made them eat anything. I on the other hand love all types of food because my parents made me try different things.
