hi, my periods are late 11 days i have a normal cycle 28-30 days, i took 4 pregnancy tests all negative, one at 4days, another at 6 days and another at 8 days i took the last test at the doctor she told me im more than likely pregnant they 2 reasons for a negative are 1) the hormone is to low to detect which is common in early stages of pregnancy as i am 3 weeks gone by conception but by doctor terms im 5 weeks 2 days gone as the count from the first day of your last period, and 2) that it is a weak pregnancy and that i wil more than likely miscarry

iv take another morning urine test wed 5days time if thats stil negative iv do a blood test and if thats negative iv get a scan

im just so confused!!! im in a grey area! she told me to take folic acid and treat my body as if i was pregnant. has this happened to anyone else? im despearate here

The same thing happnened to me. My doctor had me come back a few weeks late and it was confirmed that I was pregnant. I'm 18 weeks along now. The pregnancy tests slowly started getting more visible and more visible. Looking back now, I actually don't think that the changes in my period had anything to do with me being pregnant yet. It was just a coincidence that I happened to take a test (I was only 4 weeks along in doctor terms). It may be different for you though.

the most common mistake when taking pg tests is taking them at the wrong time. make sure to take them first pee of the morning when the hormone is most concentrated.

I have always had very irregular periods. My husband and I tried for three years to have a baby and nothing. Then in April 2009 I got pregnant but I did not find out until I was almost 16 weeks along. I took several pregnancy tests and they were all neg, I also had a blood test done during that time and it was neg. We had started to think I could not conceive. Then one day I told my husband I am either pregnant or have a kidney infection because I am peeing non stop, we figured it was an infection. I took a test and it was positive!! I went to the dr the following week and I was 16 weeks along, I had no idea because all the previous tests had been negative. If I were you I would take the dr's advice and act as if you are prego, better safe than sorry. Good luck and maybe an early congrats!! :)

Well you'll definately have to wait to see your scan. My bff had the same issue and they said to keep coming in to take blood and check the hormone levels. Normally your homones double everyday for months. Hers had actually gone down. They told her she probably had a miscarriage. Which is even possible in your case. Many women do in the beginning without knowing. But, my bff went to get on the plane to go to boot camp for the air force and they gave all the women pregnancy test's . This was five months later, and her's was positive! She had had periods and was still a size 1. She went to the doctor the next day and they did an ultrasound and told her she was 6 months and having a baby boy. So I would definatly not only treat your body as though you were pregno but also keep taking tests just in case! Hope this doesn't worry you more or anything, just wanted to inform you! You should get your answeres from your scan though as long as it's not too early which is what happened to me but I went back for a second and there my little man was. Pregnancies can be so mischievious! Good luck however things end up..

It has not happened to me personally, but my cousin, who is also my neighbor never had a positive result until she was nearly 3 months pregnant. The doctors gave her a blood test very early on, but refused a second one for some reason until she had a positive urine test result. This was with her second pregnancy.
Definately treat your body like it's pregnant and trust your body to know what's best for you and baby. Best of luck in this time of uncertainty, I'm hoping for the best for you.
