My son is 2 years old and he can take his own clothes a diaper off. He has started to take his diaper off when he poops and will have it rubbed all over him like body paint as well as whatever he is in at the moment whether it be his playpen or crib. How do I get him to stop?

Thank you for the advice. I too believe in the reward system (stickers are good) and going straght to underwear. Unfortunately he is so small (about 19 lbs) that even the 2t undies are too big. I guess I need to learn to sew. Thanks again everyone.

When my two sons started doing this I was horrified!! However, I found it was their way of letting me know they were ready for potty training. While they were getting the hang of things, I would adjust their changes to a more frequent schedule, as to not allow the opportunity to play.

My Son Use to do That all the time When he had turned 2 and It is true when they start to do that or can actually bring you a diaper and say change me lol it is Def. time to Potty Train. He will be 3 In Dec.

I got him potty trained rather quickly using stickers and believe it or not"The potty dance"I think you can download the song @ Huggies.com lol every time he would go I would give him a "Big Boy sticker" and we BOTH would do the Potty Dance While it played he loved it.Also buying him big boy underwear helpEd I never put him on a diaperSin the day even when we would leave the house. You can buy plastic Cover undies that go out side of his regular underwear so if there is an accident it wont ruin or wett his cloths.

Mom, just be patient...some boys are a little slower than others. Especially if they're the only child! (this is from my observation)

Thank you. Unfortunately he does not put in balls and Im not sure I feel comfortable with having him clean it up because of the germs. Ive been working on potty training, so hopefully it will go smoother now since he seems to be ready.

OMGosh! My son did that when he was 11 mos. thats when I knew it was time to potty train and he did it very well. I know lots of parents who have boys and they do the same thing. My son handed it to me. thankfully it was in balls! lol! It's natural I believe for some boys. Just begin to potty train him. I told my son if he's going to do that then dump it in the toilet! he was confused at first but then I showed him and he did it. But its time for potty training!!! Be very observant. you don't want him to put his hands in his mouth. For the sake of all bacterials (called Cocksaki-think i spelled it right). Good luck!
