I just had my second baby boy...I had a c-section and it's been a little tough trying to do for my 14 month old baby...I get really depressed because I feel like I'm neglecting my baby because I can't do much for him right now...I also feel so sad because I miss my mother so much and I wish she didn't have to leave back to PR where she lives....I'm scared I'm not gonna be able to handle it! I feel like such a failure right now...what to do? I don't want to continue like this!

Hi Sheika
Dont be afraid to ask for help. I am a young mom. Had my son when I was 20 and my daughter 3 years later. With my son I had my sister stay over for a bit to help me, with my daughter everyone had work etc so no one could assist. It was a nightmare for me to cope with a colic baby and the demands of a toddler - my son was however in daycare but some days he would just stay at home with me. I never asked help and tried to be supermom to my detriment. There were days when I would over eat and days when I would just not eat. I didn’t know how to cope and was ashamed to tell my family. I regret waiting so long to seek help as I was miserable the first three to six months of my daughters life and now dont even have a memory of that time with her. You are not a failure, remeber that, we all need help at times. Good luck.

Hi. You are awesome just remember that. We ALL have days where things get to be too much. But the best advice I honestly ever got was to remember to be the best you can be for your children and to try not compare yourself to others. It's easy with the world today to do that, but just know your children love you, and if your there for them and give them your all, they'll be awesome kids :)

Just remember you're not alone, all of us moms out there have felt overwhelmed....reach out to others, most people will be glad to help however they can :)
