I have a three yr old and she was completely potty trained by her third bday and now she is in Head Start with other children that are just starting potty training and other children that are still having accidents. Now she has started having accident again and it has became more than just accidents. She is doing it every time I turn around. I'm not sure if it is because she is getting lazy or if she is doing it for attention but if anyone has any ideas to get her back on track I would greatly appreciate it.

It could be a control issue if you are still reminding her to go a great deal of the time. My son was potty trained at about 28 months with him sometimes initiating potty breaks and sometimes me doing so. A little after he turned 3, he refused to try. About 3 to 4 months later he started going on his own and hasn't had a single accident since (about a year!) but when he started trying again he refused to go when I asked ("No Mommy, I know when I need to go!"). We talked about it and he agreed that he would go if I asked because we were leaving the house, but only then.

It sucks when they revert, but remember that extra pressure "to get back where we were" could actually make it worse. Sorry I don't have a quicker solution! I remember wishing for one!

hi,
i have a 3 year old as well, and just like your daughter, fully potty trained b4 she turned 3. with Zia, my daughter, she rarely has accidents but on the few occassions when she has, I have noticed its been when shes busy playing or watchin ha favourite programme - and wid kids, they love 2 play, be where the action is so its rather,'íll hold it until i cant hold anymore', cos going to the loo takes away from play time..
it may b da case wid your little girl, or it might be she is looking for attention.. one way to encourage her not to wee on haself, wud be introduce reward charts for her going to the loo..
