My daughter is 3 and she has been potty trained for a while now. Recently she has starting having accidents, this is almost everyday at leat once. Anyone else have a child like this? What should I do to get her to go potty and not have accidents?

My little boy will be 3 on Tuesaday, and we have been letting him use the big potty for a while, he refers to the other as a baby toliet! Well when my sisters and their kids were in town 2 weeks ago he broke himself, peeing and pooping in the toliet...then he started daycare on the 18th and has pooped in his underwear everyday at daycare. At home he tells us and uses the toliet, but they have started putting him back in a pull up and we don't use them at home anymore..so i along with you are up for any advice. I have been told to let them sit in both..I have also been told that this could be do to a new enviornment. We are just going to keep working with him till he gets it, my sister told me to reward him with little dollar gifts from a dollar store so we will see how this weekend goes.

Lauren mentioned using the big potty, which is a great idea if you haven't already tried it. Also, this usually happens if something happens that knocks the child off of from their usual place and time. You hear many cases of this after family have taken vacations, family trips, or just had something come up that being away from home for a short period of time was necessary. If you've recently had something like that take place, just get back on track. Ask her every couple of hour if she needs to go potty and sit her on the potty. No matter what, do not put her back in diapers or if you have her in underwear, don't revert back to pull ups, it will make her more confused. I know it is a bit of a pain, but if she has an accident, you'll just have to clean it up. Give her a few days, and she should be back in her routine and potty comfort.

sometimes when children are trained young the regress a bit and then get back on track. If it gets worse or she continues having accidents, you should go to the doctor there could be an underlying issue. Urinary tract infections sometime cause accidents. I don't want to alarm you, but it is alway safer than sorry. Good Luck

Give it time. All children revert only for a short time. At least that is what my mom and my grandmother tell me. I have a 3 yr old who does that occationaly. this week he has more accidents than he has since he got potty trained. He does not like bein wet so hes already gettin past it. I was told to let him sit in it for a little while because he will get cold and you know what it worked.
