I am having so much trouble potty training my 3 yr old son and, I have now changed his life style by keeping his alchoholic father away from him tell he is better. It is so hard cuz he hits little girls and leaves boys alone what do I do

My son is 3, too, and I'm potty training him as well. I stopped using pull-ups because they seemed to just hender the process and I put him in strictly underwear. I went with him to the store and let him pick out which ones he wanted, he got the Pixar variety pack (it's a good purchase from wal-mart). There are accidents, but they're bound to happen. We leave the bathroom door open with the light on so he can see and make sure there's a toy, a book, a step stool, his potty and lots of encouragement. It's taken me nearly two months to get him to only wear a diaper to bed at night time, so don't feel like you need to rush it if you and he are both frustrated at the whole situation.

On the lashing out at girls, I can't really help you too much there. We got out son a "naughty" chair and put it at the end of the hall away from everything, and if he does anything he's not supposed to, i.e. hit, he has to go sit in it for 3 minutes, then he has to get up when he's done and apologize. We explain to him why he's apologizing and why it's not right. I don't know if this will work for you or not because every child and every family is different, but it's always worth a try, right?

Good luck!!
