Potty training for boys

My son is 18 months old and I am getting ready to potty train him. How have you potty trained your boys? I know they can take longer, but with one on the way, I'd like to get a jump start on potty training. He has an interest in the potty, but not sure how to get the process started. Thanks!

I have two boys who are now potty trained. Yay! I started early with both of them, but they did it when they were ready. Don't push it, just make it an option.

I have a girl but one thing I tried that worked well was giving her 1 gummy bear for #1 and 2 gummy bears for #2. My uncle is a psycologist and suggested this to me. I started this about 18 months and by 2 she was completely out of pull ups/diapers. My friend has a boy and she did the same thing and he was potty trained about 2 1/2 yrs old. I also put books beside her potty chair that she could only look at when she was sitting on the pot which also helped. Good luck : )

I really didn't train my son, he just took right to it! It was sooo easy. My daughter is giving me a little bit of a hard time, she doesn't want to sit down. Anyway, get a jar (pickle jar, or something glass with a lid) put some dish soap in the bottome and then he gets to make bubbles when he pees! My son loved it! I didn't really do the potty except for "number two" and that takes a little longer. Don't push it, they will train you!
