Potty training is terrifying me! Any advice is welcome!

I know this is a common issue, but seriously, I'm at a loss. My son will be 2 in a month. He's been showing signs of being ready for about four or five months now. He tells me when he's wet or stinky, he wakes up in the morning with dry diapers, etc. I got him a little potty chair but he always wanted on the "big potty." So I got him a little seat to fit on the big potty and now he refuses to sit on it. Very rarely he'll tell me he wants to sit on the potty or not throw a fit when I tell him he's going to sit on the potty, but he's so energetic (for lack of a better word) he won't stay sitting for more than maybe two or three seconds, and I'm not exaggerating! I'm a single mom and his dad only sees him for a couple days a months so I'm really at a loss on what to do. I saw a girl in his daycare class today and she was in Pull-Ups. I feel so behind! Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

With my daughter we did "potty candy" when she would go.. Use the candy that he likes best! Maybe start out letting him know that you are going to give him candy. Or even give him 1. My daughter is 2 today and she is doing really good. The only time we have a problem is when she is around a lot of kids because then she is too excited.

Well my first son is now 3 years old and was potty train at 2 1/2. Started training him at 2. My mistake was buying pull ups. I feel their just like a diaper. My son would still go in them. The day I took them off him and let him feel him wetting his pants. He didn't like that to much. So he started using his potty. Now I know for my second boy I'm going to buy underwear and forget about the pull ups. But I guess if he is at daycare pullups are a good thing. But when he's at home try taking the pull up off!
