Thanks Julie for the comment!
My son is just over 3, so I have trained before, but it's been so different with my daughter!! Normally boys take longer and stuff, but not for me! My son was totally trained before he was 2! So I thought it would be a breeze with my daughter, but it has proved to be difficult. With my son I never used Pull-ups (only at nap time), and that worked...so I tried it with my daughter, but to no success it seemed. I didn't want to push it with her cause I thought she wasn't ready yet. And yes, the reward system is good!! With my son I used yogurt covered raisins...a little healthier, but he still thought he was getting a treat! lol

Definatly make sure they are ready! The thing that worked best for me is leaving them naked (in the house of course!). If they had anything on they would potty in it. If they were naked, they ran to the bathroom. Its worked for 2 of my kids and I plan on doing that for the third. And I agree that pull-ups are too much like diapers, total waste of money for us. Good luck

Well when i potty trained my 2 cousins. 1 was a girl and i bought her little barbi dolls and told her to sit them on the sink beside her and show them how to go potty and that worked for her. The other child was a boy, so i went and bought him some army men and told him to teach them how to go potty and that worked for him to. As far as my 3 yr old son is concerned im having a problem getting him even a slight interested in going to the potty. He will poop in the potty sometimes but not very often.

In my experience, having trained three so far, there are a few key things that worked really well for us.

1. Make sure they are 100% ready. If they are potty training will not be a 6 month process a week or two at most. 2 and a half seems to be the magical age for my girls, my son was a little older but not much.

2. Do not use pull ups during the day. They are too much like a diaper, I really think that they need that icky feeling to help motivate them a little.

3. Reward, Reward, Reward! When they TELL you they have to go potty and they do my kids always got a few M&M's or something :)
