Pre School

SO my son turns 3 October 2nd and technically just misses the cutoff for preschool. I ended up calling 5 preschools to see if they made any accept ions but there wasn't one that would in this area. My son Zayne does have some communication delays he actually didn't start talking until a few months ago. Luckily he's in a program called early interventions that has a speech therapist come to my house once a week for an hour as well as an OT and developmentalist. They have helped him so much I am very grateful that PA has such a program. Anyways all of the counselors agree that an extra year of preschool would get him right where he needs to be when he starts kindergarten. Needless to say I am already aware that because of his birthday he will be one of the oldest in his class but if I had to wait until next year and still kept him in preschool for 3 years he would be 2 yrs behind. How unfair would that have been. Fortunately my friend informed me of a preschool ran through Dart that is a similar program to the early interventions with the extra attention but they also have them in a pre-k setting. The only concern I had was that I knew he had to qualify in 2 areas for therapy to get in. Luckily sensory and speech were just enough behind to get him in but barely...who knew not having him potty trained yet would have been his saving grace. Now the question I have is should I keep him in a 2 day or 3 day program. I know the structure will help him out immensely as well as being around other children his age but how many days would be best for him right now?

id say go for a 3day program the more the better and he would also be more prepared for pre-school which will be 5 days. all the best x
