I am 7 weeks pregnant and I am getting really bad morning sickness in which I have a lot of trouble getting up out of bed. I also have a 5 month old daughter and Im just wondering if anyone has any good ideas on anything that will help with the morning sickness so I can still activley look after my daughter without feeling sick all the time.

I had the same problem, It's hard to take care of your baby when you feel like your going to die, The only difference was my son was 6 months when I found out I was pregnant again, My doctor put me on a prescription called Diclectin, This is the only think that worked for me, I tried everything under the sun before this and nothing else worked, oh just to warn you this prescription is a little on the expensive side, It

O you are lucky... even with morning sickness and everything... I have a 2 yr old son and cannot seem to get pregnant again... I know when i was preg. with my son I would feel a little nauseous at times if i got too hungry and i would eat a few crackers and some water and i would be ok for a little bit till i got something to eat...

well since morning sickness is a result of low blood sugar, eat a protein snack right before you go to bed. and anytime before you get out of bed, eat something with protein. make a pb&j every night and set it on your nightstand so you can eat it before you get out of bed in the morning. it will help level out your blood sugar for the day and will make you feel a ton better! also they make protein pretzels if you don't like peanut butter

I had all day sickness for six months. I was put on Zofran and it worked great for me. I suffered through it for the first 3 months then took the the medicine and then around six months it just went away. I was so sick every day I even got written up at work for abusing sick time because I ran out of paid sick time and have a real witch of a boss. The medication had no bad side effects it is safe for the baby. I also found that sucking on hard candy helped with the excess saliva, because that made me feel sick. I tried ginger tea and cookies and candy everything ginger they sold but my sickness was too severe.

I was put on an anti-nausea drug at 5 weeks, it worked OK for 2 weeks and then I was still sick up until week 42 of the pregnancy, but it wasn't nearly as bad as it was before the drugs. I'd recommend seeing your doc to see if they can give you something as it helps you to function, even if it is only a fraction better!

Oh sweetheart I feel for you! I am at the end of my 3rd pregnancy and I have suffered 24hour baby sickness with all of them! The first 3 months were the hardest with the first 2 but the 3rd one has been the entire pregnancy!!

So I went to the doctors and he prescribed Maxolon its an anti nausea drug etc it will not harm the baby and it may not get rid of the nausea but it will look after the vomiting which is why I needed it! I ended up in Re-hydration in hospital for 3 nights because I couldnt keep a thing down then I was able to go on the maxolon if they offer you anything take it especially since you have another little baby to take care of. Do you have family close by? My own mother didnt understand how sick I was until she came over oneday and I was still in bed at 3pm with a spew bucket and a 3 year old jumping all over me get help there is not much you can do but ride it out dry crackers, water, stuff you will never want to look at again ice cubes anything to keep your fluids up good luck I really feel for you! I am still throwing up and I have 1 week to go!

i didnt suffer with really bad morning sickness but i found ginger buscuits the best to eat.whenever u feel sick

I tried EVERYTHING - I was sick through my whole pregnancy though right up until the day they enduced me which was two weeks after my due date - As claire said what works for one wont work for another but try a dry biscuit or two before you even step out of bed, Some say green apples work, Increasing the amount of protein that you ingest daily could help, do it when you don't feel sick if that is possible.

consider asking your physician for some antinausea medication - i know you can get one that can be used during pregnancy as i did use it when i had gastro early on in my pregnancy and for my wedding day - it did work on my wedding day..

you need to eat little and often, and drink plenty so that you dont become dehydrated and to give your baby essential nutriants.

You might want to take some crackers (lightly salted) with you to bed so you can have them in the morning and eat something before your feet hit the floor. Apparently that can work, just to get something in your belly before you actually get out of bed. Peppermint tea is good for an upset tummy as well. Claire is so right though, what works for one person won't work for another. I didn't find anything that stopped me feeling and being sick, not even anti-nausea tablets from the doctor. I hope you find something though, don't leave any stone unturned :) I was ill for most of my 36weeks5days pregnancy so I feel your pain.

i heard somewhere that ginger does the trick, try eating ginger biscuits first thing in the morning, i never tried it though, don't like ginger cookies very much, so i don't know first hand if it works. just used to drink vomifene tablets for the nausea. hope this helps!

I think its trial and error more than anything coz what works for one person sometimes makes someone else feel more sick. I found ginger really helped and had a packet of ginger biscuits next to my bed so i could nibble one before i got up in the morning. you can also get various remedies from health food shops. I think the main thing is to make sure you get as much rest as possible. Is there anything you normally eat or drink to help settle your stomach when you feel unwell in general, that might help :)
