We have 4 kids and we pay our babysitter $10 an hour. I want to make sure she will watch our kids for us again and I don't want to waste her time. I think if your going to pay a lump sum it should be discussed before your babysitter arrives and is dissapointed with the pay.

it depends on a lot of things, if it is going to be an every day thing so you can work i would do a lump sum, either weekly, or monthly. You might consider a nanny. i would say 10 an hour if it is just going to be a speratic babysitting job. Im from Texas. hope this helps

if its a full day and regular than you can organise a lump sum , if not then i used to charge $15 an hour on weekdays and $20 dollars and hour on weekends this is standard price with all the girls i know who babysit however we are all adults that do it , if its for a teenager maybe a bit less , treat it as paying an employee , they are doing a job and deserved to be paid properly , oh yeah im from Australia not sure where your from but thats the rates here , good luck!
