I am 35 weeks 4 days pregnant. Yesterday I saw my OB. They did my weight, Blood pressure, and checked my urine. My OB came in really concerned. My blood pressure has been very good throughout my pregnancy. At the beginning, I had a major craving for Chips.. Inwhich I indulged too many and it made my blood pressure super high 140/101. I was told it was dangerous and that I need to cut salt down and not eat chips. I cut chips out completely and it went back down. Its been pretty good 120/84 at the most and even lower. But yesterday It was 136/94. My feet have been a bit swollen lately too. What scared me the most was my weight for the past almost 2 months has been staying the same(Ob was happy).. But yesterday I came to notice, I gained 8 pounds in two weeks out of no where. OB was not happy. I did admitt I have been hungryer then usual lately but not enough to make me gain that much. He told me He thinks it's a lot of water because I keep measuring farther ahead every week(belly). I have been measuring 6-7cm ahead everytime. Yesterday I was measuring 41cm yet I am only 35 weeks pregnant. OB is sending me for an Ultrasound next wednesday to see how big my son is(he can tell hes a bit bigger then he should be already) and to see why I am measuring so far ahead. I did some research on belly measurments and All I have seen is bad bad bad reasons for it. I cant bring myself to read about it because it stresses me out. What are some ways to keep blood pressure down besides cutting salt(already have been)? I do walk.. but not a lot. I will randomly go for long walks. I try not to lift heavy things. I am not working(have not been since the beginning).

Thanks Linda for your reply. My OB's office always checks my urine and I am always told its good like the last appointment I went too. As for my blood pressure, I did some relaxing and decided to go out to the store and check it. It had dropped(not a lot but it's slowly going down). Yesterday I checked it and it was 129/88.. Unlike 136/94. It must have been something I ate that caused to spike high(could have been anything). The swelling in my feet went down but I noticed my feet/hands had been sweating for the past few days(must of been getting rid of the water). I feel better today and I feel like my blood pressure is dropping(hopefully back to normal before wednesday's appointment). yesterday I was experiencing a lot of pressure in my back/pelvis, sides, and butt. Today it's not too bad. I think my son has decided to drop. I am 36 weeks today so, I am hoping he has(find out wednesday too). I also had horrible Heart burn/ acid reflex(I suffered from acid problems prior to pregnancy) also had a lot of nausea on and off all day. Today I feel much better. I will let you know on wednesday how things are going. Thank you

This is a common time in a pregnancy to get pre-eclampsia, esp. with BP so high and so much wt gain. chances are the wt gain is all water wt. Did your doc check your urine for proteins??

If you have pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH) or pre-eclampsia your doc needs to keep a close eye on you. Are you having any other symptoms, like; facial and upper extremity swelling? visual changes? headaches? right upper abdominal pain? The protein in urine should always be done, when you are in your third trimester, with swelling, sudden wt gain & high blood pressure. You should be on bed rest to get your BP down a bit too. Let me know what your doc says about all of this....ok?
