Hey my 2 year son has a severe nappy rash problem (blisters and bleeding) and I am wondering if anyone has any ideas or suggestions on how I can help clear it up. I have tried that many different creams and lotions and nothing makes it better. I have tried toilet training but he is just not ready for that yet. My poor baby screams at night every time he does a wee and I have to get up at least twice a night to change his nappy cause it is hurting him so much. The doctor prescribed some cream, but that made him scream every time I tried to put it on. Any suggestions and ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Hey my son had the same problem when he was younger, sadly there wasn't too much I could do, If you use too much cream it only makes things worse because it thins the skin over time so make sure you give him a break every now and again and let him go with out a diaper if possible, there was one cream that i found was great but since I'm in australia I don't know if you would find it where you are, it was called triple care cream, it is made in USA so hopefully you will be able to find it! My Mum suggested it to me, she is a carer in a nursing home and it was what they used for bed sores but it did the trick.

I've heard a lot of people talk about putting a little bit of cornflour on their bottom or in the nappy to soak up the moisture as well.

Hope these were useful

My friends little girl gets a rash like that every time she is getting new teeth. What she does is buys the Aveno oatmeal bath and lets her little one soak for a while then puts vaseline then cornstarch on her bum. This usually cured it within 2 days. Hope it helps.

Have you switched brands. I know my kids would get that problem if they wore a certain brand.

awwwwe poor little guy...... let him go without a diaper for as much as he can... now that its more summer-y then he can be outside more, let him run around without a diaper, or get him some little underware for him to have some kind of privacy. hmmm.... have you tried the cream Sudocreme? i think thats what its called... thats all i ever used for my daughter and within two days its gone... hmmm goop him up with vaseline the most you can.. it keeps the wetness away and hopefully that will help the blisters and everything.... .

awwwe poor wee man, i feel bad for him and you. that must be horrible... good luck!
