How old should I be starting my 3.5 month old son on a daily routine and a night time routine? During the day, he normally eats every 4 hours, and I like that, but sometimes he gets hungry after 3. Should I make him wait that extra hour to get him into a routine or should I still be feeding him when he is hungry? I like him to eat around 8am, 12noon, 4pm, 8pm and then bedtime and he wakes up at about 4am to eat again.

What is a good bedtime routine? Should I bathe him every night?

some kids take longer to get into a pattern then most. my kids schedueled themselves right around 4 months. my nursing son ate every 4 hours for awile and sometimes he'd get hungry sooner due to growth spurts. my daughter was formula few and ate every 4 or 5 hours.

I think if your child is hungry you should feed him, eventually he will start a routine with you, but I found that during growth spurts my son ate more often. Feeding is something you can never really predict but as long as you stick to the rest of your routine you should be fine.

At 3.5 months we gave our son a bath every other night. We didn't start doing the everynight thing till he was 7 months old. Just keep the rest of the routine the same... and the routine can be anything that works for your family.

You sound like your routine is just right. You arent over feeding him and then again you arent making him starve. So I say stick to what you are doing.
