scared !

I had a very difficult pregnancy. I had highblood pressure ,glucose and had to have a c-section after 24 hours of induction with out the slightes change.I was also told by my doc that my cervix was up high and my pelvic was of a diamond shape rather than oval so if I decided to have anymore children I must always have a c-section. It was a very scary and painful ordeal. I would like to have more children but I am scared any advise to help ease my mind if I should choose to have another? Does a c-section hurt worse the second time around?

OK!!! My pregnancy with my daughter was quite similar. While I did not have the diamond uterous or cervix problem, I was in labor for 30 hours and dialated at 4 centimeters when Alexis went into distress and they had to take her by c-section. That was absolutely awful!!!! So I understand where you are coming from.

But, I got pregnant with my son when Alexis was four months old (we wanted our kids close) and the doctor suggested I have another c-section because he was not sure if my c-section cut site (cant spell incision right?) would withstand labor, which would most likely kill us both! (woah serious)

So, he scheduled the c-section to happen one week before I was due. I went into the hospital at the time and on the day that we scheduled it a month before. They put me on fluids and let me hang out to get all hydrated. We went into the operating room, there was no drama, everyone was hapy, I was just a tiny bit nervous, nothing like the nervous of going into labor. The only thing was that the epidural hurt WAY more because I did not have labor pains to keep my mind off it.

All in all, if you have to have a c-section, it was pretty great!! I never had a labor pain, I planned my whole life around having my son on a certain day, it was low stress!

Yes, the second one did hurt more. THat was probably because it was only 15 months after I had just had Alexis and my stomach muscles were shot from being pregnant so long. So the pain probably was a quarter worse then the first, but I managed it better with pain killer and did not let the pain killer go out of my system for about four weeks, so when I noticed I was starting to get that "high" feeling from the drugs, I started just taking the ibuprofen. It took probably took a good six months to feel like I had my stomach back after the second one. Situps REALLY helped a lot to bring the muscles back together!

So, I would not be nervous about it if I were you, I did not think it was a big deal because there was none of the uncertainty like with labor.

I hope this helps a little. Congratulations and warmest wishes!

I had three c-sections and honestly the second and third were not as bad as the first I healed pretty quick believe me it is all worth it and it is not that bad once you get through the first I think the rest get easier.

My sister-in-law and my cousin had 2 c-sections. As far as I know of the first one is the worst because it's alway an emergency. The 2nd one is scheduled, and you can be awake or asleep and your loved one can be with you. Both of my family members did great! The 2nd one also heals faster! I hope I helped you a little bit...

Thank you all so much for your comments!.Knowing it will not be my first is a big help. I am wanting to wait until my little guy is at least a year and then my husband and I will make our decision.I do feel more confident and comfortable with the idea of a second c-section now! Thanks again! : )
Thanks again to those who took the time to respond to my question.
