Sign of an ear infection???

My 8 month old daughter has had diarrhea for a few days, but seems to otherwise feel fine, and is doing everything normally. Then today she began doing this weird thing with her head, she sort of was letting it fall forward, doing this on and off all day. Could this be a sign of an ear infection? Has anyone's child done this with an ear infection? Thanks to everyone that helps.

my son is nearly 3 and from 6 months has had perferated ear drums on a regular basis, so badly that he had to have groomets put in at 1yr. i took himt o the doctors for a check a week after he had a perferation and she was happy at how his ears looked then during the night both his ear drums burst again, and we were back at the doctors again the next day, he had no symptoms at all and never did, tey would just burst at random. just take her for a check if your not sure every child is different.

Every child is different and experience things differently. It could have something to do with her ears, it could have something to do with her tummy upset.

If you suspect that it is an ear infection I wouldn't muck around I would get her to a doctor as soon as possible. The longer its left the worse they become. Ear infections left untreated can turn into glue ear and ear drums can burst. I know this through experience.

All the best hope she is well soon

usually ear infection starts out with a child not eating/drinking like they usually do then they develope a fever over 100.0 and get really cranky. My daughter never had diarrhea with it though until she started antibiotics. You should take her to the doc. because she could have some signs of dehydration. Sounds more like a virus

Well, I never heard of the head falling forward. But what I do know, anytime my daughter would have her fingers in her ear, or she's grabbing at it, she has an ear infection. As for the diarrhea, she probably has a little bug. If it doesn't get any better within a couple of days, follow up with her doctor. I hope I could help you a little?

I've never heard of that with an ear infection, but she may have some sort of bug. If her diarrhea continues for a week, I would take her to the doctor. With an ear infection babies normally try to scratch their ears or head. They reach to rub their heads b/c they are not sure where the pain is coming from. You can always take her to the doctor if you get too worried.
