I would like to know ways to teach/encourage drinking out of a sippy cup and how old you introduced the sippy? Ive started to try it out because my son will not drink juice out of his bottle anymore and juice is a major part of his diet for digestion reasons... Just would like some stories on how everyone got there little ones started and how old they were! Thank you!

Hi, my daughter was 6 mo when i first tried a sippy cup, which didnt work at all. She just didnt understand the concept of it and was chewing or throughing it away. After trying several different types which also didnt work, i just gave up thinking that was just too early for her. A couple of days ago my daughter turned 9 mo and today i tried the simplest sippy cup ever and it did work!!. For the first time she started drinking from it and holding it by herself! In case sippy cups dont work for you, you can simply go ahead with simple plastic cup or a spoon. Good luck!

What does he like to drink the most? Try putting that in his sippy cup. I believe I started it w/my daughter when she was about 6 months old...?? Can't remember (4.5yrs ago). Like Shaniqua did is what I was going to suggest trying the soft tipped ones. You may have to play around and buy one of a certain kind try it, if that doesn't work try another, etc. I'd try putting his favorite thing to drink in the sippy.
