4 month old was sleeping through the night (8-10 hrs, Dr said it was ok) and now all if a sudden is waking up a couple times a night. Why and what to do?

Thanks ladies! I think she may be teething as I have found some bumps on her gums today. WIll try and feed her again before I go to bed and see how that works.

i am going through the same thing with my son..he was doing really well about his sleeping but now he wakes up randomly in the middle of the night, Usually we can tell if its sickness. but i give him a bottle, so you might want to try that, and also he is old enough to start on solids..like maybe trying some rice cereal before bed with a 4 oz bottle to follow that may help. good luck!

It happens. My son did this as well. I really cant offer you any tricks but their digestive system will soon be mature enough to start feeding solids and this may help. She is probably waking because she is hungry and the older they get the fuller they stay at night. Is she breastfed?

It's funny how we all seem to forget what it was like to wake up every 1 1/2 to 2 hours to feed and change an infant. We get very spoiled when they start sleeping through the night, then forget what to do when they stop. My son did the same thing. He was sleeping sooooo well for about a month or so. But then started waking up 1-2 times a night. (some nights are really bad 3-4 times). Just go through the steps. Is she hungrey? Is she wet? Is she teething? You'll find out what it is. Good luck Christina! :)

Your baby is probably going through a growth spurt and needs to have a little more milk before going down for the night, or you may even want to wake her up right before you go to bed with a small bottle. Just keep the lights low and put her back down then get some rest yourself.
