Thats a problem most moms deal with. Is this your first child? My first son used to do this till he was 6. its a security thing. we just kep having to get up put him back to bed and assure him he was ok, a small lamp or nightlight may help. We also put made a pallet on the floor next to our bed, this way he new the boundaries but if he got too scared or bothered he could curl up in our room. Let me tell you it did not last long before he was in his room all night, Chin up it will get better, i know the sleepless nights your going through. Be positive.

First of all id say, is there any reason for your child to wake? Is it hunger or thirst? Or is it upset stomach or bad dreams etc? Have they got a nightlight? Sometimes works when a child is uneasy about the dark or being on their own.

Putting the child in your bed does solve the problem and esp when your tired, all you want to do is get vack to sleep. If it were me and i knew the child did not want or need anything the first time they got up i would explain that it is bedtime and they have to go to bed. If they get up and can get out of their room i would stay silent but just put them back into bed, and eventually it will work, it might mean one night of disturbed sleep but they do learn! The more you allow the child to get their own way, the more they will try. You do have to be firm when it comes to sleeping. Let me know how you get on xx
