i woke for a pediatrician and the rule is as long as the baby is over 13 pounds it is absolutely ok for him to be sleeping 8-10 hours at night.

I was told by our Parents as Teachers instructor that once they reach 16 lbs they should be able to sleep during the night as long as they eat around 32 ounces during the day. If you are breast feeding just try to make sure they get plenty to eat during the day.

It depends on how old your baby is. My baby is 6 months and sleeps about 11 hours most nights. She loves her sleep.

I think it takes both, some is the baby's temperament and some is us the parents. Some babies know how to fall to sleep on their own, some need training. My son did not know what sleeping meant! Healthy sleeping habits happy baby really did it for me, so we trained him at 4 months, and hes been sleeping well since then, som bad nights, but overall hes in bed by 8, and might wake up once for a feeding, which im working on now.

Best of luck and hang in there!

It differs among children. My baby has been sleeping through the night since she was 4 weeks old. At that point she slept from 10pm-6am, and now at almost 4 months old she is sleeping from 830pm until 7 or 730 am

My little girl is 11 1/2 months old and shes started sleeping from between 7-8pm til about 7-8am so nearly get 12 hours sleep out of her. It varies with each child.
