That's the way most birth control pills work. I've been taking them for 12 years well besides the 2 years I was off of them while trying to get pregnant and while I was pregnant. You can still have sex on the sugar pill week and avoid pregnancy, I've been doing it for a long time and your doctor will tell you the same! The last week of pills are only to keep you on tract so that you don't forget to start your new pack once the sugar pills are gone. I don't take them at all! I just remember that once my period is over I start my new pack which happens to be a Sunday every time. I would still take a pregnancy test just to be sure but it may also be your body adjusting to the pills as well. Good luck!

You're still protected during the week of sugar pills. You can get them where you only have the sugar pills every 3 months, or none at all. You won't always get your period during the sugar pills, and sometimes it'll come a littler earlier or later (sometimes after the sugar pills have ended). It's nothing to really worry about as long as you're taking them correctly.

September is right. Ovulation happen around the middle of the pack...give or take, i'm not getting in to it right now. so the odds of pregnancy are very low if you were having sex during the sugar pills.

your doctor didnt explain to you how they worked??? most pills have 3 weeks of birth control, and 1 week of sugar pills, which you take when you're on your period. werent they different colours? take a pregnancy test i guess, and maybe next time be sure to read about any medication before you start taking it.

You've never been on the pill before? Some pills don't have sugar pills and you can ask for that kind. I get the sugar one's so i can keep track of when my period is going to start and when i should start my new pack of pills. Usually your period will come after 3 sugar pill days. They are generally a different color as the BC pills as well. I'm shocked your Dr or Pharmacist didn't tell you what you were taking. Be careful i guess:)

Good luck with everything:)
