our son was the same way- we entice him with anything from food to toys to even the phone or laptop.
It will come in time!

my daughter took her first steps a week before her birthday, 3 steps at once and the next day she did 6 steps at once, but after that she would only take around 4-6 steps at a time and either fall down or grab hold of something, it took her more than a month before she got really good at walking, and now its been 2 months since her first steps and she doesnt crawl anymore and she runs... its very cute. give him time, he'll do it. his legs may just be sore, because he's working up his leg muscles.

My son has been in this stage for about a month now, and since then he has gotten more and more brave. He will take about 5-6 steps at a time sometimes. When he does this, I just tell him he is doing very good and tell him he is awesome and stuff. I can tell he really likes the re-enforcement. He smiles and giggles. Trust me, he will get it, (and my son will too!) it just takes time for him to get used to it. Congratulations to your son!!

My son will walk all over the place when I am holding his hands. But he wont try to take more than a couple of steps. We bought him some shoes and thats helped him with his balance alot. I practically throw a party when Will takes a step to encourage him.

my daughter too, i think theyll do it when they want too. shes 14 mnths and just starting, we carry her too much, pick her up right away, spoil her,lol... i thought shed be walking b4 her 1st birthday, still waiting. I clap my hands and make a big deal when she takes steps and i try to walk her, u no?.... but shes lazy and will pull her feet up and scream, lol....so i make a big deal when we see big kids, her age walking... and i try to encourage her to b like them . but in the end she will walk when she wants too i guess?
