My aunt is a nurse a REALLY GOOD nurse, and she says that the nerves for boys that tell them they need to go dont fully develop until they are 3, Im not sure how old your son is but I hope that helps, she says that parents who say they potty trained earlier than that, that it was the parents who were trained, you know knowing when their child had to go, not that they really knew themselves.

My sons 20mnths I used a lot of methods from sticker rewards which worked and read books only for the toilet and alot of hugs and cheering and telling him how proud i was of him when he went for a wee or poo, he now takes himself to the toilet. i also let him pick pants to wear around the house and if he got wet then his fav pants would be wet, ok a lot of laundry but he didnt like wetting his fav pants. Try reading him books about going to the toilet. I also let him come to the toilet with me. Another good way is pouring warm over his bits when he's on the potty/toilet. stimilates the bits! and running the tap. Is he ready though? does he tug at his nappy? pull his pants down?
Good luck, its a very trying time bu im sure he'll get there soon.
hope this helps.

My son is 20mnths old and goes to the toilet by himself, he say's wee and  runs to the bathroom for the toilet or his potty, only sometimes does he have a spot of wee on his pants!!

But i gues this answers my bedtime training question, he's wont be ready till he's 3!!!!!?

Yes my son is two and a half. He will stand and sit on the potty but do nothing. I am just letting him grow up a little. Since there is also a new baby in the house he's kinda rebelling against toilet training right now but I'm hoping he catches on soon cuz diapers are expensive and there are only so many coupons!

According to your profile he isn't even two yet. What's the hurry? Just wait till he's about 2 1/2. It's not going to work very well at his age and you will be doing a lot of laundry.

I AGREE WITH BECKY, IF HE IS MORE COMFORTABLE STANDING THEN MAYBE YOU CAN THROW SOME CHEERIOS IN THE TOILET AND HAVE HIM TRY TO "SHOOT" AT THEM. I HAVE TWO GIRLS BUT MY FRIENDS WITH BOYS SAY THEY TRIED THIS AND IT WORKED. YOU CAN ALSO TRY THE WATCHING THING MY DAUGHTER WHO IS 19 MONTHS LIKES TO SIT ON THE POTTY CHAIR WHIKE I GO TO THE BATHROOM, SO WE HAVE BEEN WORKING ON HER TRYING TO GO AS WELL. SOME KIDS LIKE THE LITTLE TOILET BETTER, OR IF THAT'S NOT AN OPTION THEN THEY MAKE LITTLE INSERTS FOR THE BIG TOILETS(10-15) DOLLARS. HOPE THIS HELPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how old is he? he may not be ready.. or just scared.. try to make a game of it. see if he will stand up to go.. have ur partner, or other male relative show him how, sometimes once they do they want to be a big boy like them
