Hi i'm starting my baby boy on solids i would like to know how to do this with the bottle feeding do i give him a bottle then food, or food then bottle or just food no bottle. he eats heaps at luch time but only pureed fruit and little veg at night and hates breakfast.

i have filled him up at dinner once before only to get the last night bottle spat back at me and had to feed him again at 1-2 in the morn

When I started my daughter on solids at 6 months of age I gave her a bottle first. Formula or breast milk should continue to be their main source of nourishment for the first year of their life. Hope that helps! =)

Thanks i dont often give him a bottle to go back to sleep just seems to wake hungry if he hasnt had a good drink before bed if he has had veggies first ill try to mix it up instead of filling him with one thing.

when I started my daughter on cereal she was drinking 6 oz of formula at every feeding so I would give her about 2 oz of cereal using part of the 6 oz of formula to mix with the cereal feed her the cereal first then her bottle. She doesnt always eat all her cereal but if she does she doesnt always drink all of the bottle she tells me when shes done with either. Also just because he is waking up in the middle of the night doesnt mean you have to give him a bottle try to just put him back to sleep.
