I"m a stay at home mom too. What I do with my daughter(she's 14 months) is I have her "help" me cook and bake. If I'm baking cookies, I'll have her hold the wooden spoon and show her how to stir. Or if I'm cooking, I'll hold her and she'll watch the food cook. Sounds corny, but she loves it and I love seeing the smile on her face.

Another thing we do is go outside for a nice walk in the park. It gets us both out of the house. We play on the swings and slides. With me holding her of course.

My husband works two jobs and I rarely get any time for myself. I just try to be creative and find fun things to do for the both of us.

I am also a stay at home mom just as Sara stated, find a group in your community that you and your child/children can participate in. Early Childhood Family Education is a good one, there is also Moms of Preschoolers, Stay at Home Mom activity groups. In my case, I live in a small country town and they did not have these programs, if this is your same situation, start one! Contact your city hall and suggest a mom program and offer to hold sessions at your house. You can put an add in your town journal and ask mothers if they would be interested in joining a stay at home mom group where the moms and children can have social and play meetings. Give your contact number, you'd be surprised at the responses you'd get!

See if there are any childrens activities with mom groups. In my town we have Early Childhood Family Education that meets twice a week. The kids get to play and do organized activities and the moms get to have some adult time! There is also a library group with the same format. That way you are able to get out of the house and see other adults but you don't have to forfeit time with your child or send him/her to daycare. Ps my baby is 4 months old and I go to these things so the age of your baby doesn't matter.
