My daughter is still on her paci and we are trying to find the best way to take it away from her before the new baby comes.

My son was actually chewing through his so cutting the tip off would not work for me. I simply took it away one night and said no more. He asked for it the next two nights and we just told him it was all gone. He got over it within a couple of days.

i told my daughter (before she was 2) that it got lost when we were out and that she was a big brave girl and she will be okay without it - she only had it for sleeping - and she was fine, i think i was just lucky! we had a couple of hard days where i almost gave in but i just kept telling her she would be fine without it and by the end of the week she stopped asking for it

Cut the tip of it off, or get the stuff they use to stop children from sucking on their fingers. If she is over the age of two and a half almost three tell her she is a big girl and that pacis are for babies. But remember to stress the fact that she is a big girl.
