I have a seven month old who is just cutting her first tooth. Everything I have tried doesn't really seem to help or only helps a little bit. Any suggestions...

The only thing I could find that helped my daughter when she was cutting teeth were these mesh things you can put fruit and ice chips in. I can't remember what it's called but you can find them in the baby section at walmart, Krogers, and Target. It's got a mesh bottom and the top is for teething as well. I had to keep ice chips in it for daughter and it worked but every kid's different. Maybe it'll work for you.

In Canada they are called the "nibbler" made by nuby. They are FANTASTIC. My almost 7 month has recently cut two teeth and the nibbler with cold apple and ice worked wonders. I would avoid the gels; waste of money and time.

my son is almost 8 weeks old and is cutting his first tooth and with him i find that the pacifiers with the rubber around the rim of it (not the one that goes in the mouth but the part that is against the face) buy a few and stick some in the freezer and give one to the kid, works like a charm with my son, but give it a try and see how it goes with your child

I would freeze clean washcloths, you know the thousands of little bitty ones you got at your baby shower. That worked really well for my son, and a lot of Motrin and oragel.

my daughter did well with the teething tablets! she didnt really like the cold teething rings and i would use nighttime orajel if it was real bad and she wouldnt sleep! there are also pacifier you can buy specific for teething babies! someone told me pure vanilla rubbed on the gums bc it had a tiny bit of alcohol in it! good luck!

The stuff that we use is Hyland's homeopathic teething gel and the tablets. We get ours at Whole Foods Market. But pretty sure any pharmacy would carry it. We tried like ambesol and he hated it. With the Hyland's he opens his mouth for it. Hope this helps.
