Im a frist time mom and was curious if a fever is normal during teething? my Dr. and a few others have said no its and old wives tale, but then i have heard that it can happen?

My son is seven and yes sometimes he ran a slight fever when teething. Also , the best thing that helped him and are all natural is a product called teething tablets. It is in the baby section by the medicines. Never left home without them.

THANK YOU.....the fever started last night 101...gave her tylenol then she woke up this morning fine and now its 101 again im going to her pedi this afternoon. hope teething is all it is.

it is totally normal!! and every child is different. my daughter never had a fever but my friends son did with every new tooth. i would never listen to old wives tales-then I had kids:) heehee

Yes,some kids do get small fevers when teething. My daughter only had one once. Teething can also cause diarrhea. When my daughter got her first set of molars at 15 months she had diarrhea which caused horrible diaper rash and a slight ear infection. All kids are different and each time a new set of teeth comes in can be different too.

Both of my children ran fever teething....if it get over 102 or 101...not sure which, but then you should take the baby to the ER or your pediatrician...Hope this helps.
