My 4 month old daughter is teething and sometimes she chews on her fingers when her teething ring is not around which i dont mind but now she is starting to suck her thumb which everytime i see it i take it out her mouth. Is it anything that i can do to help her stop sucking that thumb of hers. Sometimes i think she sub the thumb for her pacifier.

I have a 5 month old who just got her first tooth and she sucks her pacifier, her teething rings, her fingers and even her thumb. when she sucks her thumb or her fingers I let her do it. doctors say that you can rub there gums with your finger to relieve the pain, so when she does it to herself I let her go because I think that it is making her gums feel a lot better and I don't see the harm in it. I would let her go, if it makes her happy and less cranky, don't try to stop it.
