teething, only two months old, won't sleep

How do you get a teething baby to stay asleep? Especially at night? She won't sleep more than 5 or 10 minutes in the day or 30 to 60 mins at night max (when I am not holding her). She was finally sleeping 7 hours a night before the teething started.

My daughter started teething at the end of 3 months/beginning of 4 months, so I feel your pain. I was surprised she teethed so early, but several of the nurses at the hospital said they'd seen it before. At times my daughter was in so much pain that the night nurse would ask if I wanted to give her some baby tylenol to ease the pain. Many times I did. The hospital also kept a lot of cold teethers on hand, as well PLENTY of baby orajel. Tylenol will definitely help her sleep for longer stretches.

My son did the same thing. He started teething at 2 months old, and didn't get a tooth until a couple of weeks ago, just after he turned 6months. I would give him tylonal before bed, and when he woke up, and treated with teething tablets and orajel durring the day. This is what his dr. suggested and it worked wonderfully for me! Good luck, and I hope you get some sleep soon!

I can see a little bit of a white tooth and shes drooling lots. I supposes gas could also be a problem at the same time. She Is acting how my first did when teething: wants to be held and doesnt usually continue to sleep when gets put down.
I tried a 1/2 dose of infant tylenol last night and she slept for 5 hours. In the day I can handle it so I wont be medicating her further but the tylenol definitely gave me some sleep :) Thanks for the advice

are you sure its teething and not a growth spurt ? growth spurts can be awefully brutal and reallhy screw with baby's sleep patterns. have you eliminated things like reflux and gas pains ?
