Terrible Two's

My daughter has just recently turned two and I am having a hard time controlling her temper screams that are at a sonic tone. I have tried time out, talking to her and just ignoring her but she continues. My son is 4 and they both fight continuously....my daughter has actually turned into alittle bit of a bully......she will start it and end it on her terms. ( I have to admit its funny but I never let her hear or see me find humor in it ). Are there any other mothers who have been through this and prevailed?

Well, if it's just you and her during a screaming fit and she won't stop...get ear plugs. Make a big show of it, too: "If you don't stop screaming I am going to put in ear plugs because it's hurting my ears. When you stop screaming I will listen to you." Being ignored is a toddler's worst nightmare.

Now, if its two kids and they are both throwing a fit put them in separate rooms. Set a timer and tell them they're not allowed to play with each other until the timer rings. After the timer rings have them work together on something (with a lot of supervision) like a puzzle.

I don't know if this will work in your situation, but it's helped me when I'm dealing with my rug rat and other kids who stay over. There is no shame in taking a "Mommy Time Out"! Good luck! :)
