My son is almost eight weeks old and tends to try and suck on his thumb Im worried because I don't want him to end up a thumb sucker but he dont seem to take to the NUK very much which I was hoping would be easier to break him from any Ideas on how to deal with it sense he really cannot understand not to do it or should I just let it go and try and break him of it later on

I would not worry about it. They now sell stuff you can use to help break them of it later in life but right now he is just soothing himself. And if you are worried about it try to use a different pacifier to see if he takes to that. My son only takes the MAM's and I know some babies who only take Soothies. Good Luck!

Hi,

If they dont take a dummy then the thumb is the next best thing. It helps them sleep. You cant stop a baby sucking their thumb x

I think that you should let your son do whatever makes him comfortable at this point. He is still very young and this may be a way of soothing himself. My son did the same thing for the first 6 months of his life and he is not a thumb sucker. If he want's to be a thumb sucker....what's the big deal? I was a thumb sucker myself and if you're worried about bucked teeth don't be :) I sucked my thumb until I was 7 and my teeth are just fine! Good luck and congrats on your little one :)
