Hi there!
So, my son is 3 and a half and just started pre-school which he seems to be enjoying. He's a sociable and happy child but I've started to notice that he doesn't have a lot of confidence with certain things such as drawing a picture or trying to write his name ir try anything new. he's scared to try things incase he gets them wrong. I realised that this is because of me! I have very low self esteem myself and am very critical of myself. I always thought I was doing a good job of not letting my son see this but he's clearly picked up on it anyway. I was wondering if anyone had tips for promoting his self esteem and helping him feel more confident in himself as I really don't want him to be like me in that sense. This may be simple for some people but its hard for me to think what to do when I have poor self esteem myself. Thanks for any suggestions

Praise him, tell him how proud you are, hang his pictures up, encourage him to do more and show more. Do these things every chance you get. Also brag about him and tell others how excellent he did, do this in front of him.
