My 3 month old seems to want to eat ALL the time and she'll cry and cry untill I put a bottle in her mouth, so i've been concerned because she drinks 6oz per feeding and it was getting to about 10oz so when she started spitting up due to eating too much I started giving her water, Now that seems to be the only thing that calms her down. I recently herd about Water Intoxication in babies and of course im concerned about tha too, I know babies don't really need water. But what do I do when she always wants to eat and is getting sick from eating too much?

I was told not to give a baby water until 6 months of age, but just like not feeding her until then I didn't listen lol. I always give my daughter purified water when she gets it. Now that summer's coming she'll be getting more of it to keep her hydrated.

As already suggested I probably wouldn't give her more than a few ounces of water a day. As for her eating maybe trying some 6 oz. feedings and some 8 oz feedings will help find that point where she's not hungry, but not going to throw up either. But I'm sure your doctor will help you out when you go in. Good luck.

Poor baby (and poor mommy). Sounds like she's having a hard time. Just be patient for 8 more days. As a medic.... I would observe her fontanel. If it's sunk she's dehydrated. It'll poof up pretty good if she's over hydrated.

Katt, are you sure that she needs the water? I didn't have this issue with my son, but I've heard that sometime they drink lots because they like the sucking action, not because they're hungry or thirsty. Will she take a pacifier instead of water? Otherwise, I really don't see how giving her water can be a problem as long as her wet/dirty diaper count is okay.

Yea i've tried pretty much everything, I was given some advice that it may be Acid reflux, but even keeping her up right after feedings doesn't help... I guess i'll have to talk to my doc

Have you tried a little water before like 1 oz. Then feed. and 1 oz. water after?

I have an appoitment on the 5th, I'm just really concerned about her getting too much water, her diapers are always wet and heavy so I know she's getting rid of it.. :S

Depends on how much she's putting into her diaper. Weigh her diapers and talk to her pediatrician about her needing so much water. It may also be sugar related. I'm not an expert on this stuff but only a suggestion.
