Transition into the crib

My son is only 7 weeks old. He hates his bassinet and just didn't seem to be getting use to it. So, in order for me and my husband to get some sleep, I sleep with the baby and my husband sleeps on another futon for now. Only thing is, I don't want my son to be in my bed forever. So, I have a crib that we are gonna put up but how and when should I transition him into that. I think he is too young to sleep in a room on his own but I'm not sure what to do and when to do it. Any advice on this?

I am lucky enough that my bedroom is big so we set up the crib in our room for the first few months.

I put my daughter in her crib in her own room when she was just a couple of weeks old. She had been in our roon in the playpen but couldnt sleep in it. I started her out just at nap time in her crib and after a couple of day at night to. Turns out she liked the crib much better. Slept completly through the night on that first night and has ever since!!!!

As soon as my son was 3 weeks old he moved into his crib. I just swaddle him leaving his arms out and then he sleeps in his crib no problem! If I dont do the swaddle he wont sleep in his crib. The funny thing is he wont sleep in his crib during the day for naps but has no prob at night! I have a baby monitor in this room and that works the best for us!

i dont think he is to young for the crib but I didnt like my daughter in her own room until this past week and she is 9 months but after she grew out of the bassinet we put her playpen in our room and she slept great in that and now loves her crib
