When I breastfeed my little boy he just seems to cry and pull away. I have to keep switching him from boob to boob. he's done this since he was just weeks old but im starting to get fed up with it now. He doesnt do it during his night feeds though. Any ideas?

I know usually people see a LC early, but they can definitely still help if he's not latching properly. It may just be a little tougher to correct if it has gone on so long!

thanks. I had Gone to my health visitor about it hoping she refer me but she just put it down to wind but since it has gone on this long i dont think it is. Is my little boy too old now for a lactation consultant?

You should see a lactation consultant if you're having that much trouble getting him to latch and stay latched. Maybe find some help from a local LLL group as well? http://www.llli.org/

When my son had trouble pulling off the breast, it was either teething or an ear infection. You can talk to your son's doctor about that, but since you say it has been going on for so long, I'd bet you need to adjust his latch a bit. Good luck!

Have u tried using a breast pump? Sometimes its hard for babies to latch on properly so the only way they can eat is out of a bottle. I had the same problem w/my oldest then I pumped & she ate just fine. Hope it all works out!
