We tried for 3 years to have a baby. We lost one during that time, our Dr. told us it was normal to be unsuccessful for two years. This website really helped me, http://www.thebabycorner.com/category/10... I was able to track my cycle correctly and in no time we were finally pregnant! I hope this helps!

I have been there! I bought the ovulation fern test thingy and the only thing it did was freak out my hubby. We were trying for almost a year and it got to be a chore to have sex for him because I was so focused and obsessed about getting pregnant. Then he had to have shoulder surgery and I threw getting pregnant out the window to focus on his recovery. I thought "okay, baby on back burner. There's no way he will be up for sex after going through surgery and physical therapy, etc." so I let it go. Then he wanted sex like mad because he could tell the pressure was off. I got pregnant that month! The best advice I can give, if you are perfectly healthy and don't have fertility issues between the two of you, is enjoy sex and stop trying. Let it go, don't stress about it and it will happen when it's meant to. I know loads of couples that tried for years and were unsuccessful and they went through IVF and had a baby. Then a few years later got pregnant without even trying. When you stress about it, it makes it harder to happen. Also, if you aren't taking a prenatal multivitamin you should...just one daily, buy them over the counter. It will give you the right amount of folic acid and keep your endometrial lining nice and thick so less chance of miscarriage. Good luck, and have fun with it! Oh and having sex every other day is the ticket too. Sperm need 2 days to fully mature, so having sex every day sends immature sperm into the uterus and they can't make it up to the egg. My OB told me that.

Read Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. You'll learn all about accurately temping, other signs of fertility, and the problem with ovulation test kits (too late!). This method, called the Fertility Awareness Method, is a great way to gain a better understanding of your body and is a natural way to achieve pregnancy AND avoid pregnancy- I've used the method for both. I successfully avoided for 6 months after marriage, conceived after two cycles of TTC, and have been avoiding for nine months since the birth of my daughter. I hope you achieve the pregnancy you want so badly!!

The temp. things works but you have to do it for a few months to see the pattern. You take your temp every morning. At the end of the month you will see a rise for a few days, those are the days you ovulated. Also there are some very helpful websites to help yuo as well. One is pregnancy.org

if u have a 28 day cycle u ovulate usually on the 9th-18th day after the day ur period has finished so just have sex every day or 2 in that time... i did that and i fell pregnant straight away.. good luck.

Quoting Melissa:

so Kate whats something that works for someone that has a high up cervix and tight muscles and was very lucky to conceive number one lol. you seem very knowledgeable.

Heh. Lots of wine. ;)

Seriously though, I would suggest a good shot of something and I would keep things...uhh...traditional. Other positions may make it harder for the spermies to get where they need to be.

...can't believe I just wrote that. Good luck!

A good tip to remember: don't tilt your pelvis too much when you lift your legs or the semen can call behind the cervix and not reach the egg. Also, orgasm AFTER he has. Your cervix will do a sort of "spasm" and dip down into the pool of semen that collects. This got me pregnant on the first try. Good luck!

I meant to say "or the semen can FALL behind your cervix:"

...Semen calling cervix is just odd. :P

My husband and i tried to have a baby for 2 years before we were blessed. We lost several during pregnancy and I actually almost died from one of the miscarriages, so we came to the terms that we weren't meant to have children. We quit trying and long behold, I got pregnant (very complicated pregnancy) but we had one. The docs said tha we couldn't have anymore, so we weren't trying, and oops baby number.. I guess my advice it stop trying. It will happen when the time is right.

It took me 3 yrs to get pregnant and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I finally bought the Clear Blue Easy Fertility Monitor. It is kinda pricey, but I bought one on Ebay for around $100. It shows you the 2 days leading up to ovulation and the 48 hrs that you are ovulating. I found out that I was not ovulating til day 26 and I got pregnant on the first try. It only took me 2 months to get pregnant with my second using the monitor.

The problem with ovulation kits is they just show when you ovulate, they don't tell you if the egg made it into the uterus and if your lining was just right etc. I've read that a normal fertile couple has a 20-25% chance of getting pregnant each cycle and 75-85% of women get pregnant the first year. I agree with the other ladies, relax have fun and don't stress out. If after a year you still aren't pregnant then maybe talk to the doctor to make sure everything is all right. Good Luck!!

We used the ovulation tests also. It says that UR most likely to ovulate like 14 days or something like that after UR menses start. I cant really remember what the pamphlet said. Anyway my friend was also trying at the same time. She took a test the day after her menses stopped and the test said that she was ovulating and She became pregnant. I decided to try the same thing and I was also ovulating the day after my period. The tests showed a positive sign for ovulating that day. I too became pregnant on that day. I know 100 % that I became pregnant that day, or within 48hrs, because thats the only day we had intercourse the entire month because I was extremely sick for over a month. I know that every one is different but its worth a shot to use a test that day and see if its positive. Good Luck!!! I hope it all works out for you!

Well, Don't try so hard.Don't think about it. Just have sex and when you are done the best thing to do is. "I know it sounds funny" But lay back put your legs up on the wall and it helps the flow. I was trying to so hard and someone told me just don't think about it. And I did the leg up thing and it worked after all that trying and it took only that.To stop thinking about it and legs up. I hope this helps. Good Luck.

My husband and I tried for 6 months too to have our little girl. I used the ovulation tests also but they never worked for me. So at month 5 we started having sex every other day and it worked. I was pregnant by the 6 month. The doctors say that if u have sex every day the sperm is weaker so they suggest every other day. Good Luck and hope this helps. Keep us posted:)

I use the ovulation tests that come 20 to a box...When both lines are equally dark, that is when ovulation is most likely to occur within 48 hours (i think)Doing the temp thing is hard unless you havea really good accurate thermometer because temp changes are slight. Good luck!
