My son is 9 months old and has just recently started standing on his own (not holding onto anything) for over a minute. He is trying to take a step but loses his balance...I am just wondering how long you ladies think I have before my son is really mobile..

You probably don't have that long. My son took his 1st steps Jan 15th & hasn't stopped

my daughter did that stage forever maybe a month month and a half slowly progressing to walking with help. sometimes getting frustrated with not being able to walk alone. She finally did it at about the month and a half mark and now shes a fast one takes off in a second. So maybe 4- weeks.

It could be soon or it could be awhile. My daughter was pulling up and walking with support at 9 months and didn't walk until she was almost 14 months. However, she didn't stand on her own until a couple weeks after her first birthday and it was still another month before she walked. The thing with my daughter was perfection. She never did the wobbly walking like you see most babies do when they start walking. She walked and didn't really fall down after wards. Now she runs and runs into things and does this little prissy girl hands on hips thing. lol :) Just make sure your son has plenty of room to run around and test out his new skills.

very very soon:) there will be tumbles and bumps , but once he figures out to take a step , holding onto the table or what not , he will be off . thats when the fun starts , because they become little sticky noses lol .
