I was wondering the difference between the two. Does one work better or is there no difference? Let me know what you have and what seems to have worked well for you.

We have the warm mist one. The only differences I've heard of are that cold humidifiers seems to cover larger rooms, and are noisier. We chose the warm mist because 1) it kept the room warmer in the winter (when we primarily used it), it helps with cold, flu, any sickness our son has, and it's pretty quiet. Since it was just for his small room we didn't need it to cover a lot of space. But like everyone said yes it gets pretty hot so we kept it out of reach.

Cold mist is the best one to use. And with little ones that is what doctors recommend too.

I don't really know the difference between the two, but I felt safer getting the cold air one, just in case my daughter got ahold of it. It works really well for her.

I like the cold one better because with the hot mist can burn the kids if they get close to it. I would suggest getting a cool air humidifier with adjustable steam. It's just like a nebulizer which is what they use a asthma treatment.
