Brittnie - posted on 04/02/2009 ( 3 moms have responded )

My daughter is almost 11 months old and we are beginning the weaning stage but I can't remember where to begin. My oldest two children are 8 and 7 so it has been awhile and I have forgot everything. Please help....I am open to any ideas!

Before we started her on a cup she was drinking from stras. But you know what , we bought her a cup from Wal-mart with a lid that had a flat spout like the rim of a cup.It worked like a cup but the whole top wasnt open..There was part in the inside to keep the liquid from just pouring out. But i took it out this way it was a continous flow. This will teach them to tip the cup back to get the juice but help them realize that there is no sucking involved. A few days with this and She now drinks from a regular cup.

I dont know about most kids but my kids hated the sippy cup and it was easier to move to a small reg plastic cup

I am in the same situation. Start putting formula in a sippy. Mine hasn't truly understood it but you just have to be persistant.
