My daughter is 11 months old and using a sippy cup since 6 months. I think it is time to start weaning her and I would like some suggestions.

we went cold turkey both of my kids cried for 3 days a little less each time until they just knew they weren't getting the bottle anymore. Tell her it is for babies. when you take it. I know it is hard but it worked. It is harder when you wait until they are older.

with my oldest by 10 months i couldnt get her off the bottle with me she would use a sippy at the daycare guess it was her security with me. So i quit giving her the bottle cept nights for 2 weeks then i gave her sippy at night s and still rocked her to bed so she still had her security. Had no problems after that

When my daughter turned 11 months I started adding 2 oz. of milk to her bottle or cup each day. So week 1: 2 oz. milk and 4 or 6 of formula. week 2: 4oz. milk, rest formula and I also replaced her 3pm bottle with a sippy. week 3: added 2 more ounces of milk and replaced lunch bottle with a sippy. week 4: all milk and I replaced morning breakfast bottle with a sippy. By her first birthday she was only on one bottle which she got before bed. By Christmas (I have a December 1st baby), she was off the bottle and we had to start on learning to walk lol.

I would do both at the same or she will more and likely try and replace the binky nipple and it would be good then it would harder to break of that. Good luck

My daughter was the same. I tried everything possible! She just wouldnt let go of that bottle UNTIL I gave her one of those sippy cups with a soft spout. It helped transition her. I later had her throw out the soft spout sippy cup and gave her an active sipper from tomee tippy. Dont do both at once. Wait a few weeks.

Thanks ladies...I am going to do it this weekend-that way I am home with her all day. What about the binky? Should I do that at a later time or the same time as the bottle?
