I have just put my 3 mth old into day care 2 mornings a week so I can get some study & office & house work done. I am finding that the same people who were putting pressure on me to either go back to work or to stop "spoiling" him with attention are the same people who are negative about me putting into daycare. Any hints & tips?

I am about to put my 15 month old into daycare for the first time. I think there is no such thing as "spoiling" a baby with attention. But I think that mommies getting a break to get some stuff done, and the babies getting to be around a bunch of other kids for a little while is a win/win situation.

My oldest son started at 6 weeks, and my 6 week old starts this upcoming Monday...but I am blessed and lucky in the fact that I work at the childcare center in the infant room. It's as close to a stay at home mom that I could be and still help my family income.

i put my daughter in when she was 10 months old because i was pregnant with my second daughter, and felt i would need a bit of a break,i thought it was a great age i had no problems with her at all and she loves it,but before i had children i was totally against daycare, but now my mind has totally changed they learn things and get to interact with other children quicker,it will be much easier once they start kinder or school if u put ur child in daycare

Daycare is important for your childs social skills. Also, he won't be difficult to leave with family or sitters. I put my son in childcare at 4 months and by the time he was walking at 9 months I could put him down and off he would run to go play. He loves it and he is there about 20 hours a week.

That seems fine.its only 2 mornings, mothers have to do whats best for them, but still leave bonding time with children ( 1st year is crucial). I had my children start out slowly, with a day or 2 a week. NOw the oldest is in school, and the youngest 2 ( 2 year old, and 10mnth)...start going certain days..

Goodluck!! - DO Whats best for you..

my daughter started going to daycare part-time at 8 weeks old and full-time by 10 weeks old. I didn't have much choice because i had to go back to work.

I went back to work when my son was 2 months old for one night a week, so my best friend and my husband look after him for the afternoon and night. I am putting him in daycare one day a week when he is 6 months old (he's three months atm) so I can go to work and get some extra hours. This is a good arrangement for us as it helps keep the money coming and he learns to be apart from me and socialize with other kids, as he is our first. Alot of people put their kids into daycare at an early age for one reason or another, and they all turn out perfectly fine.

hi anne, i must say i never had a choice with my daughter, now 7 years, casue i had to finish high school. it never hurt her and she does great when i need to leave her with someone. i am also a kindergarten teacher. and i think it is a good idea that u put ur 3month old in for two mornings. it will teach him to be around other children and well as learn to trust other people then just mommy. and it gives u a great time to do what u need to do.i think it is very important.even if its just for a few hours.

I think is good what you doing putting him now that he is so young, I wait because my in-laws thought it was crazy to put him in day care so litle. Now he is 3 yeasr old and it is horrible when a leave him in the day care because he is used to be with me. You should do what you think is best for you and your baby there is always going to be someone critizicing!!!
