What bouncers or swings do you recommend

If you want a swing look for one that can plug in. Swings eat batteries.

A plain Jolly Jumper - the harness that hangs in a door frame - is best. It's compact. Great to take when you visit houses that aren't baby friendly. Babies jump more in it than in the fancier, more complicated bouncers. It's also cheap, durable and fully washable.

Or do you mean a bouncer seat?

I will tell you though, some babies hate swings. Some hate jumpers. Some hate exer saucers. Personally, I wouldn't get that kind of stuff in advance. Even if your baby likes the things, sometimes you have an especially tall or short baby and they fit better or longer in one model over another.

We didn't have much baby gear... anyone I know who had a Tiny Love mobile loved it though. I know a number of mothers who credit their Tiny Love mobile as what made it possible for them to shower during the first months of baby's life.
