I am dealing with the same thing with my daughter. she is 2 1/2 and I got really sick and tired of her doing this. I have a friend that use to work in a child care facility. and she told me that instead of letting them wine and cry at you tell them that you need them to use their big boy/girl words. meaning make them explain what they need help with ect. also try just telling him no, and explain the reason behind it and leave it at that!!!!!! sooner or later he will relize that no how many times he screams cries throws the biggest tantrum ever you will stick to your guns. it's EXTREMELY important to stay consistent. which is actually harder for the parent then for the child.

Don't give in (Unless it's something he really needs. Don't not feed him if he's screaming for food, of course!). Tantrums are normal, and a child needs consistency. Focus on keeping yourself calm and offering him what comfort you can in the midst of his tantrum (he may tell you to go away. I wouldn't go very far.)
